Seed bombs have been around for thousands of year. They are small balls that contain a combination of seeds, clay, and compost that when mixed together, create a stable microcosm with a complete supply of nutrients for young plants.
How they work:
Best sown in the spring, you can gently toss the bomb in a vacant dirt area or press slightly into the soil so the top of the seed ball remains visible. That's it! No need to water. As the bombs sit, they will self-germinate, grow, and continue to provide our bees and butterflies with an important source of food.
Our seed bombs are handmade and are comprised of Ontario wildflower seeds, clay, and organic sheep compost. Best planted in spring and/of late fall and in part sun/part shade.
