How to Repair your Organic Beeswax Food Wraps:
These beeswax wraps are a wonderful addition to our home. Who doesn't love to eliminate the need for plastic wrap and reduce our environmental footprint?
After a little tweaking, we feel we've come up with the perfect combination of 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, locally sourced unprocessed beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and organic cold-pressed coconut oil.
Simple to use, the warmth of your hands will mould the wrap around your food, bowl, or plate. Easy to clean, wipe down with lukewarm water and chemical free soap, rinse off, and leave to dry.
Do not heat or allow your wraps to come in contact with hot surfaces or hot water. Store in a cool, dry place.
Special care instructions: With proper care, your wraps will last several months, however, after time, your wax wraps will start to break down and crack and flake. You can easily reconstitute your wraps to stretch out their shelf life and when they are finally ready to discard, simply return them to earth for compost.
Following are instructions on reconstitution:
1. Check your wrap for dryness and flaking. This will happen after a fair amount of use. (Approx. 40 t0
50 uses or 5/6 months.
2. Preheat oven to 185F maximum (higher will burn the wax) and lay your wrap on a parchment paper
covered baking tray.
3. Place tray in oven and watch carefully! As soon as wrap is glistening, remove tray from oven.
4. Quickly lift the wrap from the tray and hang to dry. This will happen very fast. Your wrap will be
ready to use in a few short minutes!
If you wrap is still strong but needs more wax, you can also purchase one of our wax repair blocks to grate over your wrap which contain our special blend of wax and oils.
